Organic Hot Chocolate: Make Your Own These Cold Winter Months!

I don’t know about you, but one of my favorite things to do when it’s sub-arctic outside (I’m originally from California, so I feel entitled to think that 20 degree weather is sub-Arctic!) is make a nice cup of organic hot chocolate for hubby and me and curl up with a nice blanket and a movie.  We’ve been enjoying this so much the last few weekends that I thought I’d share the recipe with you!  I promise it will be some of the best hot chocolate you’ve ever tasted!

Organic Hot Chocolate


8 oz. organic raw milk per person (so I usually do 16 oz. for hubby and me)

2 teaspoons organic cocoa powder (I love the Rapunzel brand)

2 teaspoons organic Rapadura (again I love the Rapunzel brand)

Optional: Sprinkling of organic cinnamon powder and dash of organic vanilla extract


Combine all ingredients in a blender or VitaMix.  Blend well. Heat in a saucepan on low/medium heat until sufficiently warm, but not boiling, stirring frequently.  Pour into a mug and enjoy!
