How To Make Easy Organic Tuna Sandwiches For Kid’s School Lunches

Do you like tuna? Growing up I loved to eat tuna melts. Warm, cheesy, and delicious, and also packed with omega 3’s, wild caught tuna is an excellent way to send your family off for the day.

Here’s a recipe for delicious organic tuna that kids and adults alike will love. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

2 cans wild caught tuna (such as the Wild Planet brand, which I get from Costco)

1/2 cup (to taste, to texture really) organic mayonnaise, such as the Primal Kitchen brand

2 tablespoon organic mustard, such as the Annie’s Organic brand (less if you like less of a “tang” in your tuna, it’s up to you!)

4 large organic pickles, such as Bubbie’s Pickles, diced

2 organic hard boiled eggs, diced

1/2 tsp (or to taste) sea salt such as Real Salt

Slices of organic sprouted bread, such as Alvarado Street Organic brand

Slices of organic raw cheese, such as Organic Valley’s raw cheese

Whatever other fixin’s you enjoy, such as organic lettuce, organic tomatoes, organic sliced onions, organic avocados, etc!

Directions:

In a large mixing bowl, stir together the tuna with mayo, mustard and salt until well combined.

Add in the pickles and hard boiled eggs, stirring to combine gently.

Taste test to see if you like it!

Add in a little bit more salt, or even a little of the juice from the pickle jar if you want it to have a little bit more of a “bite”.

Toast your bread, spread on your sandwiches, add any other additions you like, and you’re out the door!
