How I Lost Almost 4 Sizes of Baby Weight in 6 Months: How I Got Started- Part 5

How I Lost Almost 4 Sizes of Baby Weight in 6 Months: How I Got Started- Part 5

By: Catherine Slezinger

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! In today’s article we’ll conclude our journey of my postpartum weight loss.  We’ve discussed how I followed the following steps-

1) Followed the Maker’s Diet exclusively

2) Discovered my nutritional type by Dr. Mercola, and ate appropriately for my body type

3) Added 2-4 tablespoons per day of organic extra virgin coconut oil to my daily diet

And now, today we’ll discuss the fourth step- how I found the exercise that changed everything for me- Turbo Jam by Chalene Johnson.

When I was introduced to Turbo Jam, I had already begun my postpartum weight loss journey.  I knew I should be exercising too, but, well, ya know…there always seemed to be a reason why I couldn’t get around to it.  I also had some back problems in high school, and those always seemed to crop up whenever I started exercising regularly.  I knew that adding exercise to the mix would greatly help my weight loss efforts, but I kept making excuses as to why I couldn’t do it.

Then a friend introduced me to fitness trainer Chalene Johnson.  Honestly, she was so pretty and so in shape that I looked her up on You Tube.  When I watched a video of Chalene training a seriously in shape woman (who has 7 kids, including a couple sets of twins I believe!) I knew I had no more excuses to stand on.

I got her introductory program, called Turbo Jam, and went to work!

I was so out of shape exercise wise, that it was so hard to do even the introductory exercises.  But I saw results almost immediately- I mean literally within a week I noticed a difference in my arms, so I was encouraged to continue.  I started doing the 45 minute cardio program 4-5 times a week in addition to continuing on the four steps I shared above.  Within a month, I had lost an entire size, and I’ve averaged losing at least a size every month or two since then!

I started out with Turbo Jam, and after about 5 months of faithfully doing the program, moved up to her next level, Turbo Fire.  I am absolutely in love with these workout programs!

I have tried SO many exercise programs before- from simple power walking for 30-45 minutes, to Pilates, to specialized strength training programs, to resistance training, you name it, I’ve probably given it a shot.  I found things that worked, but were SO hard, took so much time and were and so boring! I never stuck with anything.  But Turbo Jam and Chalene Johnson are seriously different!  Chalene is so energetic, so beautiful, so motivating, and so FUN!  The workouts have awesome music, they’re up beat, and I actually look forward to them every day, I kid you not.  And let me just say that I used to be a competitive gymnast growing up, but stopped when I was almost 12.  I literally did not workout consistently from then until now.   I am not a "workout junkie" by any means!!! But I’m actually becoming one now because of Chalene! Woohoo!

The cool thing about all of this is, by the time I reach my goal weight, I will be in BETTER shape than when I got pregnant, because of exercising consistently.  And that’s what it’s all about!!!

Well, this concludes our journey together the last couple weeks- I hope my story will encourage you that you CAN reach your weight loss goals- all it took for me was getting over my excuses, (mainly that I was nursing and had back issues) and find something that DOES work for you, no matter how long it takes!

You can do it!!!

With much love,

Catherine Slezinger
