  37. 37

1.) I am very proud and happy that my family and I decided to change our lifestyle, as well as daily habits, not just for my health…but for their future too. This past year I was diagnosed with MS, so the more Vegan/Vegetarian Lifestyle and added activity have been most awesome with my healing path!
2.) I would like to make a date night possible for my hubbie and I; it has been a long time since we had a regularly scheduled night out, and with 6 kiddos, even us adults need a few breathers throughout the year.

  38. 38

So this year the thing that I’m proud of about my health is that I’ve really started to buckle down about buying ONLY organic foods and become way more consious of GMO’s also I just ordered ” The makers diet for weight loss”! Super excited! The thing I’m least proud of is my sugar addiction:( Working on that though:)

  39. 39

I am proud that I have found more ways to stay healthy. I have introduced Apple cider vinegar and real honey into my diet. Also more organic products all though we don’t have the money yet for all organic it’s nice to have what we can.

If I could I would change everything my whole house to being organic.

  40. 40

This year I have begun eating fermented foods more regularly, and hope to begin making my own lactofermented soon.
I would love to lose weight to be healthier right now. I’m working on increasing my exercise and reducing my carbs to achieve this, but having it now would be awesome;-) !

  41. 41

    1. I am proud that I am currently cutting out all diet coke and artificial sweetners from out diet! My huband and I have been coke zero addicts for years, but no more! πŸ™‚

#2 I wish I could go back in time an reverse the 25 year damage I’ve done, my husband and I just celebrated 1 year without fast food and will continue this for the rest of our lives. I just wish I would have been given healthier food growing up, but now my kids are growing up eating local and organic foods.

  44. 44

My family’s best changes this year would be getting rid of the non stick teflon pans switching to non toxic pans. Cooking at home more and buying organic. Drinking more tea than coffee πŸ™‚ We need to incorporate family exercise. I’m working on that πŸ™‚ After a bout of lyme disease my workouts have been put on the backburner.

    2. I have a bad sweet tooth and wish I could avoid refined sugars altogether.

  50. 51

Firstly, we as a family have made it priority to start our organic garden this year…and we are determined to make it successful. (Kind of a big deal since I have a knack for accidentally killing house plants!)

One thing I could change is my ability to make our budget work better for buying organic and whole foods. I struggle with this since our budget is limited (whose isn’t??) and there are limited options close to home. Wish I could just wiggle my nose and *poof* it would just be simple!

  51. 52
  52. 53
  53. 54

I have learned so much this year, and have made so many changes, but I guess the biggest would be eating as much organic as possible.
A change I am working on and need to do better at is exercise. Just got a new workout CD and hope to get busy with it this week!

  54. 55

    1. This year I am making a commitment to my family to cut out the processed foods and eat, real and mostly organic foods. I’ve already taken the chemicals out of our home and I need to take them out of our bodies! Purchasing the Makers Diet has been a huge step in that direction!
    2. If I could change anything right now it would be to work out. I had surgery on my legs and am still recovering but I need to MAKE working out a priority this year!

  55. 56

1)What one change have you made for your health this year that you are very PROUD of? I started using the Raw Protein that you use after reading all the great things you posted about it. I LOVE it!
    2) What one thing would you change about your health, if you could, right now? I eat healthy and do good all day,but have this bad tendency to eat at night – like chocolate (and not the kind that is good for you). I need to stop doing this and re-look at my overall diet and make changes.

  56. 57
  57. 58
  58. 59

    1. We went gluten-free about a month ago because of behaviorial and gut issues with my almost two yr old son. In doing that, we have gotten rid of most processed food. It feels good to get back to basics.. fruits, veggies, meat, nuts, raw milk, etc.

    2. I still LOVE sweets! I am almost 26 weeks pregnant with my third, and it is difficult at times to fight off cravings for sugar. I am doing the best I can though, and this is my healthiest pregnancy yet- praise Jesus!

  59. 60

    1) exercising more by taking ice skating lessons as a family. and, believe me, it’s a workout!

    2) 100% healing of all pain and inflammation in my body, especially my feet, which causes me not to be able to exercise as much as i need and want.

  60. 61
  61. 62
  62. 63

    1. A change I am proud of that we have made is integrating more fermented foods into our diet.
    2. A change I would like to make if I could is to switch over to all organic meat and produce.

  63. 64

    1) What one change have you made for your health this year that you are very PROUD of? The change I have made is not only for MY health but for my family’s. I am most proud that we have managed to change the entire way that we were raised to think. (meaning that most people are raised on processed/unhealthy foods and know nothing different.) Thanks to people like you, Catherine, and the support of my Amazing Husband……I am changing our family’s future one vitamin/probiotic/herb at a time!

    2) What one thing would you change about your health, if you could, right now? I would change my Low Blood Pressure, PVC’s, and my Chronic Migraines…….they are this Mommy’s daily, physical battle.

  64. 65

    1. I have dedicated myself to an all organic, vegan, and gluten free (was because of celiac disease but now I also know the health benefits!) lifestyle! I have done this for my own health, but also because I am exclusively breastfeeding my 4month old baby boy and working full time which has been challenging but more rewarding than anything.
#2 I would like to change the fact that I have not gotten into a regular exercise routine. Doing so with my work schedule and being the sole prouder for my baby’s health has proven to be difficult. Hopefully I will be able to get something going soon! It would help a lot with my energy and well being for my baby boy!! πŸ™‚

  65. 66

The change I’ve made this year is going 100% organic and removing foods I’m intolerant to.
If I could, the one thing I would do now is speed up the healing of my leaky gut by adding more fermented and probiotic foods.

  66. 67

I am proud to not eat out as much and cook more meals at home for my family made with real ingredients.

If I could change one thing about my health it would be better access to affordable beauty products that were safe for my family and me.

  67. 68

What one change have you made for your health this year that you are very PROUD of?
Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body. Prov. 16:24
What one thing would you change about your health, if you could, right now?
My ignorance to how my body and food works together.

  68. 69
  69. 70

    1. I am proud that I have been drinking lots more water as well as more fruits and vegetables!!
    2. I want to keep striving to get to a better fitness level that I was once at before injuring my knee.

  70. 71

    1) I have made significant strides in educating myself so that my family and I can eat/live a healthier way

    2) I wish that I didn’t love sweets so much!!

  71. 72

    1. We found out I’m pregnant! Lol, does that count?
    2. I was five pounds from my pre-baby weight with my first, and I had hoped to lose that before getting pregnant with #2.

  72. 73

    1) What one change have you made for your health this year that you are very PROUD of? A: I cut out out refined sugar and started juicing veggies and fruits daily =)

    2) What one thing would you change about your health, if you could, right now? A: my energy level!! I am tired of being tired! :/

  73. 74

    1) What one change have you made for your health this year that you are very PROUD of?
I stopped dieting and started eating God’s superfood and so far I’ve lost 40 pounds and gained self-confidence, self-respect and self-love!

    2) What one thing would you change about your health, if you could, right now?
I’m working on taking small brakes throughout the day to stay stress-free and I’m listening to worshiping and relaxing music to stay spiritually and emotionally healthy.

  74. 75

ridding our pantry of processed junk and teaching my formerly picky children that eating healthy and feeling good is not only good for you but fun!! AND adding the most amazing supplements in the world…can’t forget that one!!

still trying to completely cut out table sugar…almost there!!

  75. 76

    1) Drinking raw cows milk and slowly changing the way our pantry looks(with healthier snacks and other food)!
    2) Afford to join a gym and get my body back in shape! πŸ™‚

  76. 77

    1) What one change have you made for your health this year that you are very PROUD of?
My whole family has switched to drinking kangen water. We have been drinking it since jan. 1st and have really enjoyed the amazing changes it has made to our health. Our kiddos love it, they refer to it as our “special” water; we have not had a problem getting them to drink it.

    2) What one thing would you change about your health, if you could, right now?
If I could change anything about my health is my digestive condition (a severe spastic colon, which is a result of going into anaphylactic shock from a medication). We are working on it, the kangen water has been a tremendous help here. Plus, we have been eating more whole, organic foods.

  77. 78

I am most proud that I have been pushing myself at the gym and have been going more regularly.

The thing I would change is my families addiction to sugar/candy. We have always eaten healthy but somehow the girls have gotten addicted to candy and don’t like giving that up. I “healthy up” all of my baking recipes but baked goods don’t replace candy in their eyes.

  78. 79

    1) I have gone completely clean prior to this year, and even published an e-book to Amazon, on how I did it. The one thing holding me up was my chewing gum. Nearly every brand of gum has artificial sweetners. I FINALLY found a brand (worth chewing) at Whole Foods. It is Spry, and is made with Xylitol. It actually freshens breath, and lasts! No more toxic gum!

    2) One thing that I definitely need to work on is exercise. I don’t exercise nearly enough, and always feel too tired from work. With something this important, I must stop making excuses, and just do it.

  79. 80

    1. Quitting smoking. It has almost been a year exactly since I broke the addiction I was caught in and stopped smoking- cold turkey. It has been the best thing I have ever done for myself health wise besides going gluten-free. πŸ™‚

    2. If I could, I would change the fact that I have Celiac disease and the damage it has done to my body while I have unknowingly had it. The damage is healing, but it takes such a long time. :/

  80. 81

    1. Cutting out refined sugars completely and other unhealthy grains, As well as not even having a desire or taste for things I used to enjoy that weren’t the best for my health.
    2. Had a baby in December and would like to be at least 20 pounds lighter now.

  81. 82

1.) I have eliminated ALL processed foods from my diet and continue to buy organic foods.

2.) If I could change one thing, it would be to totally be free of muscle aches and tension in my neck, shoulders, and back.

  82. 83

    1. Ive started to make more things homemade….like granola bars.
    2. I wish I could get my hormones balanced….working on it but its a slow process.

  83. 84

2- I would like to be able to get more sleep and be less stressed at work. I think that would make me feel healthier!

  84. 85

    1) Eating more fresh and far less processed foods. Making everything at home instead of buying…most of the time!

    2) Finish getting rid of processed foods that still sneak into the house and allot more of the budget for organic.

  85. 86

    1) I have started both my boys 5&2 on the garden of life probiotics and fermented cod lived oil!!!
    2) I need to cut out the junk food for myself, ice cream specifically! I am better when it comes to my children’s health than own πŸ™

  86. 87

    1. I have been eating more fruit which has been great! I have also been trying to take a 20 minute walk at least a few times a week.
    2. If I could change something it would be learning to cook healthier. Yet making food that my family would also enjoy!

  87. 88

I borrowed a workout DVD from a friend and am ATTEMPTING to do it regularly!

I would like to cut out sugar and grains for a time to lose the baby weight!

  88. 89

    1) proud that our family has been eating much healthier! No junk and no soda! Learning to listen to our bodies and treat it the way God has meant for us too!
    2) my husbands auto immune disease and my asthma! Both of these have happened in the last two years! Looking forward to doing Makers Diet!

  89. 90

I’m proud that I’ve been using more organic food and my fiancΓ© has been picking up on it too so not only does it benefit me but also other people! One thing I wish I could change getting my family to eat organic foods!

  90. 91

    1) What one change have you made for your health this year that you are very PROUD of?
I have bought new shampoo, soaps, lotions and detergents that don’t have chemicals in them. It is still an on going process, checking every product before i buy it. We also are eating all organic fruits and veggies.
    2) What one thing would you change about your health, if you could, right now? I want to be buy organic meat, we don’t have the money right now but we are really trying to cut somethings out of our budget so that we can by it. That is my goal, it’s hard when all the people I know really don’t get why I am buying organic and changing the products I use but I know I’m doing whats right for me and my husband.

  91. 92
  92. 93

  93. 94

    1) I have added volcanic crushed rock, almost sandlike to the soil of my garden, along with steer manure and compost tea from the hydroponic store. I’m going to rototile this week and plant this week. I’m so excited. I have lost 30 lbs in 3 months by eating what God creates and not man.

    2) I would get a personal trainer to help me loose another 30 lbs and get pregnant.

  94. 95

    1) What one change have you made for your health this year that you are very PROUD of?
    – Just paying more attention to what I eat.

    2) What one thing would you change about your health, if you could, right now?
    – I want to get back in shape (had a baby in September).

  95. 96

    1) Taking excellent vitamins and probiotics and supplementing health with cod liver oil and apple cider vinegar (thanks for the drink recipe!)
    2) Taking the next step toward healthier eating – soaking/sprouting grains, more fresh veggies, and getting rid of the processed foods that slip by too often

  96. 97

The one thing we did this year for our health was to begin following The Maker’s Diet. I think the one thing I wish was that I had learned about it ( The Maker’s Diet) years ago. I have an autoimmune disease that I would love to kick into remission..

  97. 98

1). I started following the makers diet more closely after doing research about other diets as well for Crohn’s

2). Work on keeping the diet to the T and not snack as much (even though its healthy)

  98. 99

    1) My family is now all attending a (spirit-filled) chiropractor to work towards healthier bodies and immune systems and to treat sickness in the right way! With their help, I’m embarking on a new nutrition plan to partner with God in my healing.
    2) I would love to be healed of cancer and not live in constant pain and begin sleeping again!

  99. 100

    1. Thankful that it has finally “clicked” in my brain how important it is to eat organic and try to eliminate the processed foods. Excited to see the difference it makes for my family.

    2. Wish it would have “clicked” earlier in life because my family has a horrible genetic makeup and while in my early 40’s I am already experiencing coronary disease. Time to make these changes so I am around for a long time! I am a chocaholic so I will be trying some of this chocolate – whether it be by winning the giveaway or by purchasing it.

  100. 101

I am most proud of : I have completely revolutionized my health. I have started eating organic, much less gluten, no pork, and just plain healthy. I have brought my family on board which is amazing! I feel SO MUCH BETTER! As a long distance runner, this will help my joints and over all well being.

One thing I would change if i had the power (which i believe my eating habits will aid in it) is to be healed of a life long Asthma affliction. I have faith God will heal me!

  101. 102

The one thing is adding lots more green veggies into shakes and starting the Makers Diet. To change right away, adding a lot more exercise into each day.

  102. 103

    1. Finally had it “click” that I need to be buying organic and staying away from the processed foods – for me and for my family.

    2. Regret that it has taken me this long to figure it out. My family genetics are awful and I already am experiencing the coronary issues.

  103. 104

    1) I have removed all unhealthy processed foods and feed my family mainly organic and home/farm grown foods.
    2) eat less & move more!

  104. 105

    1) I took more control by learning how to prepare foods from scratch & eliminated as much processed food as possible & that includes not going out to eat as much.

    2) I would like to get down to what is causing my allergies and get rid of them for good!

  105. 106

One thing I’m proud of….getting rid of most of the junk my family eats.
One thing I would like…a bit more energy (But I am working on ways to find it through better nutrition!!)

  106. 107

1.) We have been eating more organic, less processed foods and feel fabulous!

2.) My health is actually good however I wished I could get more disciplined to exercise several times a week.

  107. 108

    1) I have started eating cleaner foods and feel so much better.

    2) To continue to lose the remainder of my weight through continued non-processed diet and exercising.

  108. 109

    1. Added organic virgin coconut oil to our daily diet
    2. Started eating and drinking more organic stuff like milk, Ezekiel bread, eggs etc.

  109. 110

After watching and being incredibly impressed with “Back to Eden” I am starting a garden. Have been researching and finding resources for a “Back to Eden” garden and will begin planting next week or the next whenever my trees and seeds come in. Never had much success with a garden before because it was so difficult to grow things in my area…hopefully this will be a much
better time since I will be gardening according to God’s principles
After 4 pregnancies and other issues, my endocrine system and hormones are very out of balance despite my attempt at healthy eating. If I had insurance or money wasn’t an issue, I would go to a natural doctor that could balance my hormones and get my body back where it needs to be so the healthy eating we are doing will do more good than it is doing right now.

  110. 111

I’m excited this year to be making more time for exercise, going to bed earlier, eating/using more coconut oil, and consistently taking a probiotic (Primal Defense). I’m pretty happy with my overall health but I would like to go back on the Maker’s Diet, and work on getting over my yucky processed sugar cravings!!

  111. 112

1 – I’ve gotten rid of processed foods and sugars!

2 – Would love to see an increase in my energy throughout the day and start working out

  112. 113

    1. I have less cokes and lots more water and of course I feel much better doing so.
    2. Putting more vegetables on the table. We are not big vegetable eaters so it’s hard.

  113. 114

in the past year i’ve really reduced the amount of sugar i eat, and feel so much better. i’d like to get into a regular exercise habit…one step at a time!

  114. 115

I’d proud that I became a certified spin instructor and started teaching this year! One thing I need to work on is getting in enough calories to keep doing my cardio and gain some muscle!

  115. 116
  116. 117

    1. This is the first winter my family and I haven’t gotten sick, and I know we owe it to our healthy diet and kefir. What a blessing!

  117. 118
  118. 119

  119. 120

The change I’ve made so far is only having a sweet treat once a week.
What I would change is no more dizziness (and way more energy).

  120. 121
  121. 122
  122. 123

I am a sugar addict and am working on breaking myself and my family from it. I can’t wait to try your recipe for the cookies with the coconut flour and natural sugar (I think it was called Rapunzel). I have a daughter who unfortunately has the same sweet tooth that i have and I want to change our lives before she grows up with a serious issue to deal with. I would love to try the dark chocolate! It would be a nice treat once in a while that I know is good for my family. You have inspired me in so many ways and taught me so much. Thank you so much for all the information you pass on each day!

  123. 124

    1) The whole family has been eating more fresh fruits and veggies, and drinking more water.
    2) Need to be more disciplined with excersize routine.

What one thing would you change about your health, if you could, right now? weight

  128. 129

I’ve switched over to the makers diet this year. I’m very proud of this! I’m still working a few things out, like only eating organic produce. But our farmers market is starting back up in a few Weeks and eating only organic will finally become a reality! If I could change one thing about my Health I would cure my ulcerative colitis. I’m taking care of my body now so I know that also will become a reality!

!. The change(s) made that I am most proud of, is that I am completely following “The Maker’s Diet.” I haven’t had a soda (diet coke) or processed food and have transitioned nearly my entire home to organic products!

    2. The thing I would change about my health (and intend to do so,) is to be off of ALL prescriptions medication that I currently take for SLE (systemic lupus). I have already been able to cut them in half after less than 5 weeks on the diet and feel better than I have in 10 years! πŸ™‚

    2. Learning to cook meals that are healthier and expand our taste buds on an affordable budget.

    Thank you for this opportunity:)

  139. 140

I know the contest is over, but I thought I’d share my personal health challenge and recent victory.

    1. This year, well late last year, I determined to start eating a plant-based diet. After watching several compelling documentaries detailing the health benefits, I felt like I could no longer continue eating unhealthy food. In less than 3 months, I’ve lost 16 pounds and am no longer pre-diabetic. Also, I’m in the process of removing high blood pressure meds from my life forever! (See my website for more details.)

    2. I honestly am not sure I can top what I’ve already accomplished. I would like to exercise more to further my improved health. Other than that, I’m still pretty excited about where I’ve come!!
