Why I Love My Instant Pot

I love my Instant Pot because it’s everything I’ve been looking for in a kitchen helper for a long, long time. It does everything. And by everything, I do mean EVERYTHING. Including being able to go in the dishwasher. The Instant Pot provides essentially the functionality of the stovetop with the ease and convenience of the slow cooker. It’s a stovetop, (with pan included!) pressure cooker, and slow cooker all in one. When the meal is done, the large stainless steel pot insert goes right in the dishwasher. If I forget to defrost the meat, it’s no problem. The Instant…

Three easy tips for eating organic (it’s not as hard as you might think!)

I sat down to write this article, and at first I couldn’t figure out where to begin. How do you answer the question of HOW to eat organic in one blog post? When I don’t know what to make for dinner…I make waffles :)

When I get too busy and too tired to make dinner at night, I have a few tricks up my sleeve. One is organic homemade quesadillas. Another is breakfast for dinner. Particularly waffles 🙂 My kids and husband LOVE waffles and they’re so easy to make. This recipe is designed to be soaked overnight, but, in a crisis, I make it without soaking 🙂 I triple the recipe to make a large batch. This recipe can also be used to make pancakes. So take your pick- pour it right in a waffle iron, or make pancakes with the batter instead….

The Many Benefits of Coconut Oil, And Easy Ways To Use It

Back in the 1930s, a dentist named Dr. Weston Price traveled throughout the South Pacific, studying traditional diets and their effect on health, and dental health as well. He found that despite the high fat intake of those eating diets high in coconut products, these traditional peoples were healthy and trim. In 1981, researchers studied populations of two Polynesian atolls. Both groups consumed coconut as their chief source of caloric energy. Researchers found no evidence whatsoever that the high saturated fat intake had a harmful effect in these populations. In contrast, the exact opposite was found! These traditional peoples were…
