Beautiful Scents: Diffusing Oils At Home- My Top 3 Blends

how to make your house smell like a spa

It’s Monday morning and windy outside, my kitchen needs a serious scrubbing, and there’s more to do than there are hours in the day. But, one thing makes me happy without fail each and every day, no matter how much there is to do. It’s diffusing essential oils in my kitchen, which spreads a delightful scent and pleasant atmosphere throughout the whole house 🙂 Ahhhhh…….and that’s the point.

I thought I’d share with you my top 3 favorite blends that I am using right now in our diffuser. (See this post for more on which diffusers I recommend and why)

#1 Favorite Blend For Your Home Diffuser- Spearmint & Lemon

This blend smells so yummy it makes you want to eat it!! The sharp minty-ness of the spearmint contrasts beautifully with the peppy lemon scent. My husband and kids love this blend the most. I use 5-6 drops lemon and 5-6 drops spearmint. Our diffuser lasts about 2 hours with this blend.

#2 Favorite Blend For Your Home Diffuser- Bergamot & Lemon

This delightful floral/citrus blend comes a close second in our house to lemon and spearmint. The floral tones of bergamot are lovely and fragrant, and the lemon is clean and bright. My husband really loves this blend. To make this blend, I use 3-4 drops of bergamot, and 5-6 drops lemon.

#3 Favorite Blend For Your Home Diffuser- LAVENDER.

That’s it! Just. straight. Lavender. I know I keep saying this…but I think this one might be my favorite!!  I love diffusing lavender when I feel like I’m about to go crazy 🙂 This is another scent that is so yummy it’s almost edible. It’s a very full scent and it makes the whole room smell like a day spa. You’ll love it!!

There are so many ways to use essential oils to create an inviting atmosphere in your home. I love the thought that my children will remember our home smelling delicious! (they love running their hands through the steam as the diffuser happily pumps away too)

Happy Diffusing everyone! (You can get your own essential oils to diffuse here.)

YOUR Turn!! Leave me a comment below and tell me your favorite blends to diffuse! I really want to know!

From my home and heart to yours,

Catherine
